Night-time. From behind the trees comes some music that calls me... it is an ancient melody that is over 400 years old... short... serious... constantly repeating itself... and after so much repetition it ends up becoming a part of me... I can feel it moving from my ears to all over my body... to stay there... to be able to hear now another melody as ancient as the first one and another one that is as new as the one I heard last night... It repeats and repeats itself... I hear a voice... it is singing a poem that is 700 years old but sounds like it comes from today (I understand what it says) and this too repeats itself – my friend, my friend... It seems to be talking about nostalgia or love with the animals that live in the forest... with the wild deer that move among the green grass... I see the deer in the distance... More repetition... I know that these sounds are really very old, but I am hearing them today, at night, as if they were from today... and they are... they were... of course they were from today... they’ve always been from today because sound, like the night, has no time... They are in my body... in the memory of each small part of my body... In the distance, I can hear and see some very old instruments – some more clearly, others less clearly – pieces of wood from this forest... they are flutes, shawms, vielles, timbrels... and there is a pale light coming from a... from an iPad? Yes... here, tonight, it is yet another instrument and soon it will be very old... Sounds from yesterday, a long, long time ago, which we have almost forgotten (but they are here today, and very much so)... and we haven’t forgotten them because they are here inside, in our bodies... in every small part... We all live for today, tonight... not yesterday, not even tomorrow...
