New music for a new era! In 1913 Luigi Russolo bid farewell to the classical instruments for which Beethoven had written his symphonies. As far as the young Russolo was concerned, the young nineteenth century was crying out for sounds that corresponded to the noise and speed of the new era: motors, factories, thunderous urban life, whistling and roaring locomotives. He presented new sound machines more closely connected to a world of metal and plastic, of whirring factory sirens, the sounds of the street and advertising slogans. With the droning, rattling, shrieking and murmuring of his intonarumori, he instantly transforms the noise of everyday life into music.

From futuristic instruments, MATRIX builds a new project encompassing a publication and an interactive installation which will premier at the BIG BANG festival. Enter, discover and take part in this extraoridnary world of sound machines.
