GODFRIED-WILLEM RAES: CONCEPT & DESIGN | MONIEK DARGE: DOCUMENTATION & RESEARCH | STICHTING LOGOS: ASSEMBLY & PRODUCTION
The PNEUMAPHONE is a room full of yellow air cushions which invitingly waits for the public. Music is moving air, or so says inventor/musician Godfried-Willem Raes. So without air there can be no music! Like a professor Barnabas of music, he slipped off to his workshop and reappeared with a range of pneumaphones, which get air moving and blow it into a series of strange instruments: flutes, single-reed instruments, lips, tongues, double-reed instruments, kazoos, hydraulic organs, membranophones, … It's up to you now: Lie down! Sit up! Roll! Bounce! on your air cushions and bring the pneumaphone to life!
