In this workshop, participants get in touch with the Mirandese language through music and dance, learning one of the «lhaços» associated with the tradition of the Pauliteiros de Miranda. From a brief introduction to the Mirandese language and the meaning of the «lhaços», participants are invited to collectively learn the lyrics, rhythm and movements of a traditional dance, accompanied by bagpipes, snare drum and bass drum.
Conducted by young pauliteiros and musicians from the Miranda do Douro School Group, this workshop proposes a participatory experience where body, voice and tradition meet in a space of sharing and discovery.
With the support of the Mission Structure for the Promotion of the Mirandese Language and the Municipality of Miranda do Douro.
