A major figure at the National Film Board of Canada, McLaren left his mark on the history of animation with his formal audacity and insatiable curiosity. A visionary explorer, he drew directly onto the film, scratched the emulsion, manipulated movement frame by frame… but above all, he created a dialogue between sound and image in an absolutely unique way. Every line becomes rhythm, every color becomes vibration, and the listening experience is as enjoyable as the viewing.
Her inventive, playful, and profoundly human work transcends generations. It reminds us that animation can be a poetic playground where anything is possible.
