Basketteuses de Bamako

Director-choreographer Thomas Guérineau has a deep connection with Africa. In 2013, he created Maputo-Mozambique, a great spectacle combining the art of movement, juggling, singing and percussion. He decided to go back, to experience its gestures and musicality; to rediscover the feeling of direct contact that artists have with the desire to play with their bodies, to dance, to chant, to make music.

So, Basketteuses de Bamako became an artistic piece based on two practices which, in his opinion, are heterogeneous (sport and juggling-dance-music). It's show that combines musical juggling and basketball, in a unique collaboration between Malian artists and Thomas Guérineau.
