Picture of BIG BANG Festival Lisbon 2014

The BIG BANG Festival is an exciting journey of shared discovery, for children and adults alike. Through this project that began in 2010, CCB/Fábrica das Artes has created a space where Portuguese and foreign artists can develop new approaches to music for children and see their work recognised not only in their own country, but all across Europe.

This festival is based on an initiative developed by Zonzo Compagnie and is designed to create a platform where composers, musicians and performers can meet one another, stimulating participants to contribute to the production and presentation of non-commercial music for children.

A production by Zonzo Compagnie in coproduction with Centro Cultural de Belém - with the support of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.

About Centro Cultural de Belém

The Centro Cultural de Belém is managed by a Foundation whose aim is to promote culture, developing and disseminating new creations in all of their different forms, from classical music to jazz, from theatre to dance, from opera to literature, architecture and cinema.

About the building

Built in 1998, the CCB building comprises a centre for temporary exhibitions, which since 2006 has housed the Berardo Museum, a module with multipurpose rooms, an auditorium for symphonic music and opera performances and another geared to the performing arts, as well as a conference centre and several small green open spaces. It has been classified, since 2002, as a monument of public interest.
