The children of the 4th grade of De Luchtballon school in Merksem get to work with the Mexican musician Israel Alonso and artists of MetX during 5 Thursday afternoons. They will be immersed in the tradition of the ‘Día de Muertos’, a Mexican celebration honoring the death. The result of this special collaboration will be presented in the form of a parade passing through the streets around the school.
NOMAD focuses on the cultural wealth of the contemporary city. A professional musician creates together with a group of children. The children’s musical talents and cultural influences merge with those of the musician. BIG BANG provides a stage for the results.
