Warning: songs that stick in your head

Fulco Ottervanger is a musician like no other: a sonic chameleon, an inexhaustible wellspring of ideas, a virtuoso jazz pianist, a musical storyteller …

In recent years, he has gained fame with his Dutch-language songs. ‘Wonderkind’, ‘Grote broer’, ‘Blijf maar zitten’ and ‘Een beetje verfrommeld’ found their way to a wide audience via the radio and concert halls. In these, Fulco combines poetic lyrics with a distinctive pop sound, somewhere between cabaret, synth-pop and dreamy piano music.

With the intimate Ohrwurm, Fulco continues to build on this series of Dutch-language songs, but this time for a young audience. He takes to the stage solo with a selection of new and old songs, a guitar and a keyboard. Once again, we hear the Fulco we know from Zonzo Compagnie’s brilliant ‘Slumberland’. Who knows, perhaps the Sandman, the Sleep Professional and Mr Dark – more than 10 years after their creation – might just get a sequel…
