Ranie Ribeiro

Ranie Ribeiro’s artistic journey has taken on new dimensions and disciplines. Formerly known by his DJ moniker D-Ribeiro, Ribeiro has solidified himself as one of the Netherlands’ most unique harpists. For Ranie, the act of performing and transforming music live is a meditative and vulnerable process inviting the audience to feel the same.

Ribeiro unveiled his talents as a film composer for the first time on Het Jaar Rond (2021). He went on scoring various projects such as Het Limburgse Landschap (2021), Short Scores (2022), and most recently, Waka Nanga Mi (2023) a short film that was screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam to massive public acclaim.

Embracing the harp’s delicate resonance, he went on releasing his first full-lengt harp record Contemplation (2025). A delicate collection of unassuming harp compositions, and improvisations. Looking towards the future Ranie Ribeiro carries this sentiment of carving out his own unique space in the musical landscape with his diverse musical background translated through an oft-overlooked instrument, the harp.
