Put on your headphones. What you hear has existed for centuries, yet the music sounds as if it were written yesterday.

Sound the Encounter takes you back to the age of polyphony, where melodies mimic, chase and embrace one another. Composer Seppe Indigne weaves canon, counterpoint and imitation into a soundtrack that resonates with recognition. Choreographer Karolien Verlinden translates those sounds into our bodies: a movement score inspired by dances with resounding names such as Allemande, Branle, Courante, Estampie, Galliard, Pavane and Rondeau.

But music was never just for listening. It was an invitation. To move, to find someone in the space. Because polyphony, it turns out, never wants to be heard alone. It seeks a partner. And during BIG BANG, you unexpectedly become that partner to someone else…
